Well, hello there, and welcome. I've been in filmmaking & advertising in one form or another for the last ;) years. I took a film class at my small girls school in my small hometown, and fell in love with movies - stories & characters in moving images. Ended up in advertising with a Mass Comm degree from VCU, and then blended the two to produce mostly commercials over the years. But I've worked in different areas of the business to broaden my scope. Movie development in LA, running a small production company, line producing and big & small agency producing, broadcast business affairs including celeb & music negotiations, crew on a feature film in NYC, and even my own creative projects like a short film for PBS. I've won over 100 awards, judged many a film competition ...and all that kind of stuff. Most recently I was a consultant to the VA Film Office - and loved it; I brokered the tax credit deal between VA & The Martin Agency to bring $10 mil of their production here for $17 mil of economic impact for the state. My favorite director experience was with Christopher Guest. I could not get Corky St. Clair in Waiting for Guffman out of my head. Best celeb shoot is a toss up between hanging out with Wayne Newton in his Stardust dressing room or a smooch from Joe Walsh (do I even want to admit that?!). I left for Canada in a car the day after 9/11 to make a shoot happen. Have chatted with Andy Warhol for a half hour about advertising... And met tons of wonderful, wonderful friends. I'm deft at brokering all of the pieces - the people, the ideas, the resources, the budgets, and the craziness, to get an even better product than we all set out to do. And have fun... |
